The grant application closing date will be 25 June 2024 at 23:59 BST. The anticipated grant award notification will be August 2024 and grants will be distributed following a fully executed agreement and submission of Final Protocol, documentation of IRB/IEC approval, regulatory approval (if applicable), exemption or waiver.
Please note that Pfizer is unable to accept applications with a start date earlier than August 2024 since full execution of the Grant Agreement must occur prior to the Project Start Date. Projects must have a maximum duration of 6-12 months.
Individual projects requesting up to $25,000 (USD) will be considered. Project requests above $25,000 (USD) will be considered for initiatives with large system potential, reach and impact. Please apply in Great British Pounds (GBP).
The estimated total available budget related to this request for proposal (RFP) is $265,000 (USD).
Proposals with the following areas of interest in COVID-19 and/or Long COVID will be considered for Pfizer grant support. This may include but not limited to:
Improving the quality and efficiency of COVID-19 and/or Long COVID services including diagnosis, referral and management.
Initiatives to improve knowledge and dissemination of knowledge amongst healthcare professionals on COVID-19 and/or Long COVID.
Tools/resources to reduce health literacy barriers in underrepresented populations and to improve health literacy dialogue between healthcare professionals and patients.
Initiatives to reduce health inequalities in COVID-19 and/or Long COVID (e.g. access, diagnostics, socioeconomic class, underrepresented populations or gender).
Initiatives that utilise system-based changes with a larger reach to improve patient outcomes, are patient centred and address areas of unmet high clinical need in COVID-19 and/or Long COVID will be given priority.
It is not our intent to support clinical research projects. Projects evaluating the efficacy of therapeutic or diagnostic agents will not be considered.
For all independent quality improvement grants, the grant requester (and ultimately the grantee) is responsible for the design, implementation, and conduct of the independent initiative supported by the grant. Pfizer must not be involved in any aspect of project development, nor the conduct or monitoring of the quality improvement programme.
Only organisations (e.g. NHS trusts/departments or professional organisations/charities such as Royal Colleges) are eligible to receive grants, not individuals or medical practice groups. If the project involves multiple departments within an institution and/or between different institutions / organisations / associations. All institutions must have a relevant role and the requesting organisation must have a key role in the project. The applicant must be the Project Lead/Principal Investigator (PI) or an authorised designee of such individual (e.g., Project Lead/PI’s grant/research coordinator). The Project Lead/PI must be an employee or independent contractor of the requesting organisation.
Requesting organisation must be legally able to receive award funding directly from Pfizer International LLC, a United States based entity. We strongly recommend that applicants confirm this with their organisation or institution prior to submitting an application. Grants awarded to organisations that are subsequently found to be unable to accept funding directly from Pfizer International LLC, a United States based entity, may be subject to rescission.
