Pfizer announces new UK INSPIRE partnership

The Clinical Research Network (CRN) South West Peninsula becomes the latest network to be chosen as a Pfizer INSPIRE site.

Pfizer’s INSPIRE programme (Investigator Networks, Site Partnerships and Infrastructure for Research Excellence), is a strategic network of sites identified as highly productive, medically relevant and effective in conducting clinical trials.

Prospective sites must meet strict criteria such as running trials to the highest standards, ensuring high-quality staff and resources and expertise in key disease areas related to Pfizer’s R&D pipeline.

The South West Peninsula has now become the sixth UK site to be recognised for its investment into its clinical trials research infrastructure. The new partnership provides Pfizer with access to facilities, investigators, and a well-categorised group of patients, as well as encouraging both doctors and patients in the region to participate in local clinical trials.

We’re delighted to be partnering with the NIHR Clinical Research Network South West Peninsula. The range of therapeutic areas and the expertise in the Peninsula nicely aligns with how we work at Pfizer. Through the collaboration, we will be able to share knowledge and experience in clinical research that will help bring innovative new medicines to patients in the UK, and all over the world.”

Karolina Rask, Director of Clinical Site Management, Pfizer UK

I am delighted that the South West Peninsula is now working with Pfizer as one of their INSPIRE sites. This gives the region the opportunity to develop a close working relationship with Pfizer to support growth in research across a number of speciality areas. This will allow our patients access to novel treatments and for our clinicians and staff to be involved in research across the healthcare system.”

Dr Pauline McGlone, Chief Operating Officer, CRN South West Peninsula
