Q: Who is the Pfizer UK Foundation looking to support?
A: Any statutory/voluntary or community-led not for-profit organisation - preferably with links to local health professionals.

Q: What are the main criteria for a project applying for a grant?
A: Projects should:
- be community-based and in an area of deprivation in the UK
- address local health inequality issues for a specified target group
- have measurable health-related outcomes

Q: What organisations or projects will the Pfizer UK Foundation not support?
A: Grants will not be made to:
- organisations seeking core funding - i.e. building, permanent staff costs, equipment etc
- sectarian or political organisations
- ex-service, fraternal and trade unions, and professional societies
- personal appeals by, or on behalf of, individuals
- overseas contributions or projects undertaken by individuals going abroad
- large fundraising campaigns for equipment or buildings

Q: How does an organisation/professional apply?
A:  If you wish to submit an application to the Pfizer UK Foundation, please email pfizerukfoundation@pfizer.com to request an application form. Once you have fully completed this form, please return it along with supporting materials to the same email address. Q: How is an application processed?
A: All applications are acknowledged by our office within a week of receipt. Applications that meet the criteria are then evaluated by the Board of the Pfizer UK Foundation comprising internal and external health inequality experts. The Board meets three times a year

Q: How long should the process last?
A: Maximum of four months from the receipt of the application to payment of the approved grants. Applications are kept informed of the process at regular intervals and should hear within one month if their application is to be considered by the board

Q: Are there any examples of the type of applications encouraged by the Pfizer UK Foundation?
A: Please see the section on previous grant recipients for a list of the projects previously supported by the Pfizer UK Foundation

Q: Is there a minimum/maximum grant?
A: Grants will be offered between £3k and £50k

Q: Our local hospital is raising funds this year for a new scanner. Should we apply for a grant from the Pfizer UK Foundation towards the cost?
A: No - the Pfizer UK Foundation does not support fundraising appeals as these are often long term and involve a large number of partners and individuals

Q: Will the Pfizer UK Foundation support international initiatives run by UK charities?
A: No - the Pfizer UK Foundation will focus on tackling health inequalities in the UK only.
